IOAEI

When you are writing an IOAEI, try to use complete sentences in paragraph form.  Also, remember there is never a wrong or right answer.  Everything you say is correct as long as you back it up with SPECIFIC references to the artwork.
Each report should be approximately 100 - 150 words. 

Intention: the reason something done.
1. Why was the artwork created

Observation: to describe what you see
1. What is the name of the artwork? 
2. Who is the artist?
3. When was it made?
4. How was it made? 
5. What does it look like?
6. What materials were used?  

Analysis: to examine and investigate how it was made
1. What Elements of Art were used?
2. How were they used?   
3. What Principles of Design were used?
4. How were they used?   

Interpretation: to understand why it was made
1. Do you understand what he/she is trying to say?
2. Does it make sense to you?
3. What does the artwork make you feel?
4. Does it remind you of anything?

Evaluation: to decide whether it was successful or not
1. What is your opinion of the artwork? 
2. Do you like it? What do you like about it?
3. Did the artist convey his/her message effectively?
